Some plant operations positions may be eligible for relocation assistance. SCOPE Under the direction of the Shift Team Lead, the Operator, Water Systems is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Water and Waste water Treatment Plants. In this position the Operator will perform a variety of tasks to optimize and maintain the processes and the process equipment.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: • Learn the unit layout, purpose and operating parameters of the assigned systems. • Operate and monitor equipment throughout the plant. • Maintain process to meet Alberta Environment compliance monitoring requirements. • Assist in the maintenance and repair of process equipment. • Perform process sampling and laboratory testing . • Interpret lab results to achieve efficient plant operation and optimization. • Troubleshoot and diagnose upsets and problems. • Maintain monthly and yearly plant operating records. • Participate in Team Safety Meetings and follow up on assigned items. • Utilize and further develop Training Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience: • Previous experience working in the Water and Waste water Treatment area of a large plant. • Experience in Treated and Raw Water Systems including Pumphouses and Heat Exchangers. • Grade 12 Diploma. • Minimum Alberta Class I Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification and a Class I Waste water Treatment Plant Operator Certificate.
PERSONAL QUALITIES: • Be self-motivated with a desire to learn. • Good mechanical aptitude. • Able to produce high quality work with minimal supervision.
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT: • Comply with all Health and Safety Requirements established by Canadian Natural Resources Limited. • Know and comply with all regulations and legislative requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for the Province of Alberta and environmental standards. • Follow safe work procedures and ensure all personnel comply. • Report any injury or illness immediately. • Report unsafe acts and conditions. • Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and is worn where and when required.
