BioWare Edmonton is looking for individuals who have a deep interest and understanding of what it takes to make great computer generated art for the role of Technical Artist. You will have to easily grasp a concept and be able to see the best way of bringing it into a production environment. BioWare's technical artists also divine the best techniques that push current and future computer hardware to do incredible things. We need people with these skills to keep us as one of the foremost developers in the world.
Education and Experience
- At least 4 years of experience in computer generated art.
- Game development experience would be an asset.
- Scripting or programming experience is also an asset.
Skills / Abilities / Knowledge / Personal Suitability
- Great communication and team skills.
- Able to familiarize with programs, technical concepts, ideas and problems very quickly.
- Able to work within boundaries to creatively solve art issues.
- Have the forward-thinking ability to research new industry developments and art techniques for future projects.
- Anticipate the needs of the artists so as to streamline their productivity.
- Be able to understand the limits dictated by programming staff or project leads.
- Will put new ideas/technologies/solutions to the test and help see them to completion.
- Be able to teach valuable points of information to anyone who may require it.
- Participate in the critiquing your work and the work of others.
- Be meticulous and organized in the approach to the tasks, files and storage of the material.
- Perform other related duties as required.

- Painting or sketches, either in traditional form or digitally created.
- Technical Drawing in the form of schematics, architectural plans, industrial design, etc.
