BioWare Corp. is seeking for immediate hire a Senior Game Design candidate to help development on new ground-breaking roleplaying games. This is senior position to design and oversee the implementation of core game systems and gameplay elements.
Duties
Primary Task:
*Works under the Lead Designer and Project Director to deliver core gameplay elements. Conceives game systems; including combat, UI, inventory, progression, levels, NPC actions, play balance and reward schemes. Oversees the design implementers of these systems and provides a first pass check on deliverables. Acts as an information conduit from Design to other departments.
Secondary Tasks:
*Aids in: project management, developing test plans, preparing critical stage analyses, and staff management issues.
Education
*Minimum education (preferred but not mandatory): Four year post-secondary degree with an emphasis in computer science, or equivalent experience.
*Preferred: BSc Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
Experience
*3+ years of professional game design experience.
*Worked as a designer on 2+ published (preferably AAA) action, adventure and/or combat-oriented games.
Skill Set
*Familiarity with the fantasy and science fiction genre and role-playing games is a must.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
*Superior organization skills and works well under deadlines.
*Practical experience with C++ and/or C#.
*Aptitude in a non-design development skill (e.g., art, audio, programming, cinema, animation, etc.).
