BioWare Edmonton is in search of candidates for the position of Senior Sound Designer to join our audio team. As the successful candidate you will be experienced in creating audio for games or similar professional experience, and possess a strong understanding of the fundamentals of audio engineering and theory.

We are looking for individuals who are creative and technically proficient. You will have a passion for exciting sound design and a great grasp of technical requirements and issues present in making audio for our award winning games.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Designing, creating, editing, and mixing original audio content in accordance with each game project?s design goals
- Working with programmers to define technical requirements and specifications to facilitate creation of advanced audio systems that support the game vision
- Creating audio assets using Nuendo, Sound Forge, and other related software
- In-game implementation of all types of audio assets using proprietary tools and systems
- Editing, mastering, and implementation of music and dialogue
- Large scale audio asset management
- All aspects of sound for linear video
- Trouble shooting and debugging of game audio systems
- Working with external sound/music providers
- Assisting with Localization audio requirements for each project

Basic Qualifications Include:
- Minimum 3 years experience in creating audio for games
- Exceptional sound design skills and strong technical audio vision
- Experience creating audio pipelines on projects
- Ability to make high quality audio samples and process externally created music, VO, and SFX for in-game use
- Professional-level skills in digital audio editing and manipulation
- High degree of proficiency using professional audio software and hardware.
- Familiarity with a variety of audio middleware applications (ISACT, F-Mod etc)
- Superior knowledge of field recording, Foley, microphone and professional audio equipment
- Great communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail
- A drive to continually advance the art and science of game audio

The ideal candidate will also have some mix of the following:
- A love of games
- Musicianship
- Live/studio recording experience and a strong grasp of microphone theory
- Understanding of the software development process
- Understanding of basic game design concepts
- Knowledge of surround mixing techniques
- Dialogue recording experience
- Experience with 3rd party audio tools like XACT, ISACT, Miles Sound System, F-Mod
- The ability to write/debug simple computer script or batch files
