Assistant, Mine Maintenance is a key member of the mining team and an opportunity to work with experienced professionals from the mining community. Reporting to the Superintendant, Mine Maintenance, this position will suit administrative professionals that embrace autonomy to complete work efficiently and accurately.
Scope:
-Liaise with other personnel within the Mine Maintenance Group and also other supporting departments on the Horizon Project Site in order to ensure accurate data capture and the issuing of relevant work orders and reliable reports -Responsible for entering data and producing reports from the Canadian Natural computer data bases. This data is provided by the personnel who plan, schedule and execute repairs to maintain the mine and mine support equipment. -Issue schedules and reports produced from this data which will be used to evaluate and execute weekly, monthly reports with in the Mine Maintenance area.
Key Areas of Contribution:
With a big picture understanding of how the business unit contributes to the Horizon Oil Sands Project: -Input information collected and manage reporting required to review and direct the work of the maintenance group
Specific Accountabilities -Manage daily maintenance data entry -Creating/closing work orders -Organize the maintenance work to be performed on specific equipment -Verify and enter the data from the contractorâs Labour, Materials & Machinery (LEM) reports that serve as the basis for contractor billing -Generate the reports that will be used to verify and measure the effectiveness of the maintenance work
Additional Areas of Involvement: -Assist in the flow of documentation -Expedite authorization and approval signatures -Perform cross functional duties with others in the department for vacation coverage
Education and Experience:
-Diploma in office administration from a recognized institution, 3-5 years office administration experience or a combination of the equivalent. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including, Word, Excel and PowerPoint -Grade 12 Diploma or GED -Some experience working with commercial contracts. -Preferably, experience working within oil sands mining or the heavy equipment maintenance industry.

This position is based position on our Horizon Site located 70km north of the town of Fort McMurray.
