Scope: Working with the Materials Management team, this is a “once in a lifetime” chance to be involved with a warehouse start up for a mega project. Key Areas of Contribution: •Contribute to overall cost efficiency of inventory levels at Horizon •Ensure that the team is supporting the broad range of inventory needs for internal customers •Develop and maintain relationships with external suppliers
Specific Accountabilities: •Foster and maintain cooperative relations with our suppliers and user groups – our internal and external customers. •Set up, analyze, adjust order points, procure, expedite and maintain inventory items. •Initiate cost savings and cost avoidance. •Provide a reliable source of goods and services in a safe and cost effective manner. •Maintain and manage optimum inventory levels while providing effective service. •Maintain an accurate and concise catalogue system for our Materials Management data. •Maintain security and accuracy of our Inventory. •Work with the Warehouse and Accounts Payable to resolve quality, storage and payment issues with Inventory items. •Utilize reports to identify non-moving and obsolete Inventory.
Qualifications for this Position Education and Experience •A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a large industrial warehousing environment (preference given to those with previous experience working in an oil sands, oil and gas, mining or forestry industry) and/or a diploma/degree in Business/Commerce or Supply Management •Experience using JD Edwards is a definite benefit •Completion of PMAC courses considered beneficial. •Equivalent education and experience will also be considered.

The location of this position will be on the Horizon Oil Sands Project located 70kms north of Fort McMurray, Alberta.
