POSITION SUMMARY

This is a senior level Advisor position reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources and working closely with assigned client departments. You will be expected to apply effective Human Resource management practices in order to provide generalist HR support as required, particularly in the areas of recruitment and selection, performance management, employee development, compensation, employee relations and policy. Canadian Natural is a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.


Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

· Providing full cycle recruitment support to assigned client areas. Includes developing & managing the recruitment strategy, drafting advertisings/postings, proofing advertisements for use in various print and online media, selecting the best communication media to find suitable candidates, screening resumes, preparing interview questions, coordinating and conducting behavior-based interviews, checking references, and providing input into the selection decision;

· Providing Department Management with support in dealing with performance or related personnel issues;

· Interpreting and applying as well as occasionally developing Human Resource policies and guidelines;

· Preparing a variety of documentation for approval processes, contributing to compensation recommendations, and preparing department orientation practices;

· Facilitating the execution of the company’s performance management program;

· Facilitating the delivery of effective compensation programs; and

· Performing additional human resources consulting and project work as required.


Note – This is a Term position of approximately 12 months beginning mid-June 2008, coinciding with the duration of a maternity leave and overlap period.


Candidates should have a University degree with specialized training in Human Resource Management supported by related certification or credentials (i.e. CHRP). You must possess at least 8 years of generalist experience including specific recruitment experience ideally obtained in the Oil & Gas industry. Previous success in relationship building using effective proactive, consultative skills will allow you to be viewed as a trusted, credible business partner, as will an orientation to customer service. You have exceptional communication skills, which includes the ability to interact with people with a variety of backgrounds and experience coupled with strong organizational and team skills.
