Projects are currently underway in Fort McMurray, Calgary, Sarnia and Denver.Our growth = significant career opportunity for youDescription of AccountabilityThe successful incumbent will provide broad HR generalist support to leaders and employees in the Corporate Functions, including Finance, Communications, General Counsel, and Human Resources.Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Corporate Function leaders and employees in the areas of employee engagement, on boarding, workforce planning, recruitment, terminations, coaching & feedback, annual performance and compensation cycle, learning, employee relations.
•Provide input/feedback on process and program requirements and initiatives to improve HR operational excellence.
• Represent HR in leadership team meetings as requested.
• Identify and source support from HR Governance areas for inquiries and initiatives relating to compensation & benefits, learning and development, talent acquisition, policies & practices, Suncor-wide programs.
• Ensure the successful communication and implementation of Suncor-wide HR programs.
• Investigate employee complaints and recommend and implement the necessary steps to resolve issues.
• Analyze and report HR data as required by the client groups.
• Liaise with HR Advisors to ensure consistency with respect to Corporate Function leaders and employees residing in remote locations.Education and Experience• University degree with 2-4 years HR generalist experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience, with demonstrated knowledge of HR principles and practices
• Strong communication, organizational, relationship building and problem solving skills
• Effective change management, coaching, conflict management, problem solving, decision making and communication skills.
• Effective influencing and negotiation skills.
• Effective time management and prioritization skills, and ability to multi-task effectively.
•• Strong customer service orientation
• Facilitation skills
• Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office• Proactive and flexible self-starter with solid judgment and a bias for action
• Familiarity with HRIS systems, preferably SAPNote:There is more than one position open for this role and will be based in Calgary.
