Reporting to the Business Manager of Mining/Extraction/Upgrading Major Projects the SPIM coordinator will be responsible for providing support to the project team in the execution of projects using the SPIM model.Role will be responsible for the following items:• Act as the focal point for SPIM deliverable development within the project group:
o Coordinate with project director & project team to ensure that SPIM deliverables are being prepared according to the gate schedule
o Integrate data / deliverables from different sources to create a consistent document for the deliverable
o Perform an initial review of the deliverables prior to the formal gate review to ensure preparedness.• Develop (in consultation with the director) SPIM deviation requests and expedite their authorization:
o Maintain a record of SPIM deviations and their authorization
o Challenge the system to operate using best practices and promote continuous improvement within the work group• Ensure that gate reviews and appropriate SPIM reviews are scheduled as required:
o Work with the project director & the Project Management Office (PMO) to develop a list of applicable SPIM deliverables for each gate review.
o Maintain a log of Gate review follow up items and their status. Coordinate with the project managers to ensure closure in an appropriate timeframe.• Act as the focal point for communication with the PMO:
o Communicate strategy and decisions in development of SPIM deliverables to smooth the review processes
o Work with PMO to ensure that assumptions made by the project team are realistic and acceptable
o Maintain close contact with PMO to ensure timely communication of changes to SPIM requirements, etc.Experience & Educational Requirements:
Experience leading or assisting in the development of one or more SPIM gate packages is ideal.PMP designation would be an asset however equivalent experience will be considered.
