As the newest oil sands company in more than 25 years, Albian Sands is a young, dynamic and growing company. Albian Sands is a part of the Athabasca Oil Sands Project (AOSP). The AOSP is a joint venture among Shell Canada Limited (60 %), Chevron Canada Limited (20%) and Marathon Oil Sands L.P (20%). The AOSP consists of the Muskeg River Mine north of Fort McMurray, the Scotford Upgrader near Edmonton and all supporting facilities such as pipelines and a cogeneration plant. As majority owner, Shell is the overall project administrator as well as operator of the Scotford Upgrader. Albian Sands Energy Inc., a company created by the joint venture, operates the Muskeg River Mine. As majority owner, Shell is responsible for the staffing and recruitment of Albian Sands. Responsibilities:
Focal point and contact for all Aboriginal candidates Albian Recruitment contact for Aboriginal Human Resources Employment Coordinators Assist in matching Aboriginal candidates to position vacancies Conduct pre-screen interviews with Aboriginal candidates Tracking progress on Aboriginal attraction and recruitment, identifying gaps and recommending/participating in bridging these gaps Work closely with Community Affairs and Talent & Diversity Advisor on all Aboriginal Recruitment initiatives The focal point for all queries related to Aboriginal recruitment The primary contact for all Aboriginal candidates Leading initiatives to increase Albian’s ability to attract and recruit Aboriginal talent Lead and attend Shell/Albian career fairs and open houses within Aboriginal stakeholder communities and other selected locations to target Aboriginal talent Lead and host employment workshops within Aboriginal stakeholder communities Develop Aboriginal Recruitment Strategy Develop Aboriginal Recruitment Process
Requirements:
Must have legal authorizaton to work in Canada on a full time basis for anyone other than current employer. Human Resources or Business Administration diploma or degree 2+ years of recruitment experience An understanding of diversity and the importance of a diverse workforce Computer skills (e.g. MS Office – Word, Excel, Powerpoint) Excellent understanding of recruitment – short listing, interviewing skills Displays excellent personal effectiveness Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organization skills Demonstrates courage to stand up for the right outcome Values and understands the need for strong team working
