POSITION SUMMARY
As the newest oil sands company in more than 25 years, Albian Sands is a young, dynamic and growing company. Albian has a wide range of project management, construction, operations and other professional positions available. Albian Sands is a part of the Athabasca Oil Sands Project (AOSP). The AOSP is a joint venture among Shell Canada Limited (60 %), Chevron Canada Limited (20%) and Marathon Oil Sands L.P (20%). The AOSP consists of the Muskeg River Mine north of Fort McMurray, the Scotford Upgrader near Edmonton and all supporting facilities such as pipelines and a cogeneration plant. As majority owner, Shell is the overall project administrator as well as operator of the Scotford Upgrader. Albian Sands Energy Inc., a company created by the joint venture, operates the Muskeg River Mine. As majority owner, Shell is responsible for the staffing and recruitment of Albian Sands. Albian Sands is currently seeking two Human Resources Advisors
Responsibilities:

Support delivery of the ASE HR plans which in turn is aligned to support delivery of the Oil Sands Operational plan Accountable for the business Workforce plan, ensuring that it is accurate, delivered, protocols followed and chair of a frequent review between business, HRiB and recruitment is in place. Lead core Talent processes (Succession planning, Competence and skill reviews, career development etc) Provide coaching, career and professional development support for line manager and staff Accountability for fair and consistent application of HR processes and work practices within business Ownership and functional experts for advise on organizational effectiveness, development and design. Accountable for all compensation and job grading changes within business, ensuring that we maintain a healthy balance between internal & external equity (i.e. recruitment of staff as well as internal promotions and movement, job evaluation) Lead the Shell People Survey processes (cascade, sensing, follow-up action plans for business Attend client leadership team meetings to present updates against ASE HR Plan (and WFP) and illustrate clear plans for achieving targets Coach team leaders in dealing with HR related issues and work with L&D to provide client specific development and addressing competency gaps in these areas as required Lead in the coordination for client area of major group HR processes, including (but not exclusively), Performance Management reviews (including annual IPR review), talent review development & succession planning Ensure leaders are managing performance in their areas in accordance with the performance management assessment tool and our legislative obligations. Advise & support leaders on performance issues and associated actions. Demonstrates courage to stand up for the right outcome & in what they believe Builds a shared understanding on issues for resolution Values and understands the need for strong team working Ability to present a fact based, analytical solution Ability to lead by influence, working through others/virtual networks to deliver results able to work in a fast paced environment with delivery against short timelines in highly results orientated & challenging environment Managing ambiguity and breaking new ground Working flexibly and effectively with team leaders, staff and stakeholders Ability to manage multiple (sometimes competing) priorities and multiple interfaces across business


Requirements:

Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full time basis for anyone other than current employer. Degree in Human Resources/Business Administration preferred. Will consider CHRP designation, benefits or compensation designations with additional experience. Bachelor in Human Resources/Business Administration 5-10 years of Human Resource Generalist experience Displays excellent Personal Effectiveness Excellent influencing skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization Strong generalist in all areas of human resources Ability to coach and mentoring at all levels of the organization (and in most cases, more senior staff members).
