Scope: Reporting to the Froth Treatment Operations Superintendent, the Operations Coordinator will play a key role in the planning and execution of the safe and efficient commissioning and start up of the Froth treatment Plant. Post start up: ensures that the day to day operation is conducted in a safe, efficient manner, and that operations are optimized over the long term. Works with the bitumen production maintenance team, production planning team, and other business units to coordinate plant production. Promote the company mission statement by striving to develop people to work together to create value for the company shareholders by doing it right with fun and integrity.
Key Area of Contribution:
With a big picture understanding of how the business unit contributes to the Horizon Oil Sands Project Work with commissioning teams to ensure safe start up of new plant facilities. Work with engineering, maintenance, and other support teams to support plant production targets. Work closely with the Operations Superintendent, and Shift supervisors in areas such as Plant efficiency, safety, training, and overall plant operation and production.
Specific Accountabilities: •Act as an Operations focal point during the turnover and commissioning phases of the project. •Prepare the Froth Treatment team for commissioning and ongoing operations. •Coordinate updates to standard operating procedures. •Coordinate improvements to the process and facilities. •Coordinate intermediate and short term plans to ensure safe and cost efficient production. •Manage Froth Treatment Operations resources.
Additional Areas of Involvement:
•Provide input into plant optimization and future expansion phases at Horizon. •Coordinate management of change processes for operations such as procedure updates, etc. •Ensure proper policies and procedures are followed.
Qualifications for the Position Education and Experience: •Previous commissioning and operations experience in a major oil and gas operations. •Preferably 8-12 years experience in the oil and Gas or related industry •4th Class power engineering certificate would be an asset. •Strong People, communication, and leadership skills.
