Required Education:

Job Purpose:

Provide technical leadership on large projects, general leadership on packages within large projects, or project management leadership on small projects in order to achieve client satisfaction while ensuring Tri Ocean achieves best value targets on projects as defined by the Project Managers.

General Duties, Responsibilities, & Critical Outcomes:

Ø Deliver technical leadership to the project, as follows:

o Take on responsibility for a specific function within projects, such as discipline interface, engineering reporting, and interdisciplinary coordination.

o Act as a technical resource for the discipline.

o Ensure project scope is communicated and understood by disciplines

o Co-ordinate and expedite deliverables from various discipline groups.

o Ensure the proper use of the Project Quality Plan, Project Execution Plan and Project Design Basis.

o Take on accountability for detailed design documents and commissioning plans.

o Assist in the development of a detailed schedule that is consistent with the engineering Project Execution Plan. Forecast upcoming work to ensure work is done on time for assigned areas.

o Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and third party services with the appropriate support departments.

o Use appropriate project controls measurement to meet schedules for assigned areas.

o Discuss with clients, project engineers, and team members on items or processes that do not improve the quality, speed, or cost of a project, including recommending and justifying alternative approaches.

o Resolve conflicts, negotiate, mediate, analyze situations, set priorities, and make sound and timely decisions to encourage creativity and progress.

Ø Proactively ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables for the assigned scope of responsibility, as follows:

o Be familiar with and support the corporate Quality Plan.

o Require personal accountability of all project personnel in the preparation of deliverables.

o Ensure the timely disposition of all project non-conformances, potential problem reports, or other project quality issues.

o Organize interdisciplinary review for all appropriate technical documents and drawings and ensue compliance with company and project standards.

o Facilitate resolution of project and appropriate interdisciplinary issues in a timely and professional manner.

o Ensure the appropriate interface and compliance on all HSE matters.

Ø Proactively ensure on-schedule deliverables for the assigned scope of work, as follows:

o Assist with the preparation of the Project Schedule, and Execution Strategy.

o Interface with all disciplines to ensure deliverables are produced, checked, revised as necessary and shipped to the client as per the Project Schedule.

o Anticipate and communicate well in advance any schedule departures to the project management team - document the reasons for the departure.

o Assist project controls personnel in the preparation of project schedule reporting.

o Act as a focus point for all scope changes within the assigned scope and make management aware of trends

o Make optimal use of resources within the project, as follows:

§ Co-ordinate the preparation of the discipline scope of work; deliverables lists, and man-hour estimates to match project scope of work.

§ Prepare or assist disciplines in preparation and maintenance of manpower plans, forecasts and other engineering control tools developed from the Project Schedule.

§ Monitor discipline tasks and proactively optimize manhour expenditures and earned progress.

§ Review and approve discipline status, progress, schedule and productivity reports.

o Advise Engineering Manager of trends, delays, or short-term personnel changes.
