The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication
skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment. The successful
candidate will posses either a valid Inter Provincial Red Seal Heavy Duty Technician Certification or an Alberta Heavy Duty Technician Certification.Current or Past experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Shovels in the Mine Operations CapacityExperience with Cable Shovels given preverenceApptitude in Hydraulics is also an assetWorking Conditions:Achieving world-class safety excellence is key to Suncor’s goal of being a sustainable energy company. -This position is based at our Main Plant located 24km north of Fort McMurray.

-Shifts Schedule: 12 hour shift of 3 days, 3 nights then 6 days off (this may vary depending on the position)
-Safety: Suncor's Journey to Zero is a strategy aimed at eliminating all occupational injuries and illnesses
-Mining: In the mine, about 500,000 tonnes of oil sands are mined every day using shovels with buckets that hold 100 tonnes. The ore is transported in some of the world’s largest trucks carrying close to 400 tonnes per load.
