Projects are currently underway in Fort McMurray, Calgary, Sarnia and Denver.THE POSITION – Project Controls AssistantWe are looking for one Engineering student who has completed at least three years of engineering studies to join the Major Projects Group based in our Calgary location. The position would be of interest to students planning to pursue a career in Project Management/ Project Controls and will involve an exposure to cost analysis, cost control, planning and scheduling, field engineering and contract administration.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe position will provide support to current efforts of one of the project teams and will report to the Manager, Project Controls of one of the respective areas. Duties will be varied and could include:• Developing detailed WBS by CWP’s and EWP’s
• Developing pricing schedule for CWP’s and EWP’s
• Developing field progress curves
• Developing Monthly Management reportsDepending on the nature of work, the position may also provide exposure to Project Controls software, such as Primavera and Prism.QUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate is a third or fourth year engineering student who is a proactive team member and demonstrates superior interpersonal skills, as well as analytical and problem solving capabilities. The candidate should have excellent computer skills, including experience with common office application software.
