Kiewit Energy Canada Corp. specializes in large, complex, integrated industrial/mechanical/electrical projects. Our projects involve construction of oil sands processing facilities, refinery expansions, gas plant expansions, co-generation facilities, major mine developments, spool fabrication facilities and SAGD facilities.



Responsibilities:

  • Conduct civil inspections - including soil compaction testing methodology; layout & dimensional verification of civil formwork, r-bar spacing & diameters, tie in of, & material certification review; witness concrete pours & related slump & water content testing;
  • Generate reports, ensure ITP adherence for witness & hold points, review & interpret technical specifications
  • Interface with Kiewit QC manger and Client civil QC inspectors
  • Resolve construction quality issues, provide direction to production personnel on quality
  • Monitor production personnel quality activities and foster quality culture.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of 3-5 years related QC/construction experience
  • Knowledge of batch plant operations and related QC function (note: will not be working in a batch plant but should be familiar with plant quality function)
  • Knowledgeable with construction quality management systems such as ISO
  • Knowledgeable with civil curing procedures, civil rework processes, concrete cylinder testing, & grouting
  • Advanced professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment
  • Highly motivated, self managed to gets things done right the first time
  • Strong communication & organization skills complemented with positive work ethic.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel to remote site. Work will be on a rotation of 10 days on / 4 days off at site in a fly in / fly out manner.
