POSITION SUMMARY
Business OverviewNear Fort McMurray in Northern Alberta, Suncor Energy Inc. Oilsands Operation recovers bitumen from oil sands and upgrades it to refinery-ready feedstock and diesel fuel. Although located in Calgary, this position will support our Fort McMurray operation.Construction is underway for the next phase of oil sands growth, which is expected to deliver production capacity of 350,000 barrels per day in 2008, growing in stages to a goal of up to 550,000 barrels per day in 2010 to 2012 and growth is not expected to stop there. Expansion and opportunity are words you hear often at Suncor.Our growth = significant career opportunity for youPosition Outline:The Suncor Supply Chain Management - Plan, Schedule and Coordinate (PS&C) team is looking for Logistics Planners to work with our Sustaining Projects Development Group.The Sustaining Projects Development Group at Suncor is responsible for executing over 300 projects per year with an annual spend in $300-$500 million dollar range.The Logistics Planner works with multiple project teams to ensure that materials and service requirements are planned into each project during the planning phase and provided as agreed by SCM.Key Accountabilities:Reporting to the SCM Supervisor, Sustaining Projects, the PS&C Logistics Planner is accountable for:
• Planning and incorporating the Supply Chain Management requirements into Project Documents during the Project Planning phase.
• Supporting the Project Team in executing work by working with Procurement to obtain supplies of materials and services.
• Tracking milestones on complex Purchase Orders to ensure that supply is obtained on time and on agreed project schedule.
• Function as the Supply Chain Management Single Point of Contact with the Project Team.
• Undertake to complete all necessary work that arises through role as Single Point of Contact.
• Function as a Logistics Coordinator where required to ensure that project needs are met.Qualification Requirements:The ideal candidate will:
• Be a dynamic individual with 3 plus years of logistics or projects planning experience.• Business/Supply Chain Degree or Supply Chain designations such as P.Log, CPP, CPIM, PMAC.• Ability to interact in a technical environment (Engineering environment) is desirable.
• Working knowledge of computerized Supply Chain management systems (Preferably SAP).
• Working knowledge of project planning / scheduling tools & techniques (Preferably SAP Project Management)• Computer application experience with Microsoft office products such as Word & Excel is essential.• Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational and communication skills are a must.Working Conditions:Achieving world-class safety excellence is key to Suncor’s goal of becoming a sustainable energy company.
