Business OverviewNear Fort McMurray in Northern Alberta, Suncor Energy Inc. Oilsands Operation recovers bitumen from oil sands and upgrades it to refinery-ready feedstock and diesel fuel.Construction is underway for the next phase of oil sands growth, which is expected to deliver production capacity of 350,000 barrels per day in 2008, growing in stages to a goal of up to 550,000 barrels per day in 2010 to 2012 and growth is not expected to stop there. Expansion and opportunity are words you hear often at Suncor.Key Accountabilities:The Construction Technologist within Suncor will act as a liason with Mine Operations to ensure that the designs of the operations are executed effectively and efficiently for Suncor. Responsibilities will also include daily construction reporting, material approvals, and material testing.Qualification Requirements:A Technicial diploma in Civil or related fieldA member of ASET or eligible for membershipA minimum of 5 years construction experienceMust be willing to learn and be a key contributor in a dynamic teamExcellent communication skills required both verbal and writtenMust have a valid drivers licenceWorking Conditions:This position is a shift position located based in the operating mine at Oil Sands.
