POSITION SUMMARY

Kinetic Projects PONOKA is currently seeking the following individuals:

Junior Engineer/Technologist - PONOKA:

This is an on the job "shop" training position initially. Once a solid understanding of the shop is obtained, the successful candidate will move into the office and fill an Engineer/Technologist role as noted below:

Engineer/Technologist On the Job Training:
Act as a labourer / apprentice on the shop floor (approx 4-6 months) to learn what actually goes on at the shop, and how / why we do things the way we do. Duties could include:

  • Assisting pipefitters (tacking, prepping parts, measuring, cutting pipe)
  • Assisting welders (chipping, fitting, running heat, etc.)
  • Assisting Assembly / Hydro test - installing piping / equipment, prep / take-down for hydro, handling / rigging
  • Structural (Fitting, cutting, band saw / punch / drill press use)
  • General Labour (clean-up, organization, rigging / handling)
  • Possible exposure to welding.
  • Involvement with the safety committee.
  • Shadow the Shop Lead Hands to gain exposure to personnel, time cards, weekly/daily plans etc.
  • Possible exposure to QC (weld mapping, heat number mapping, NED marking/determing (10% RT), welder logs, wel procedures/testing.

Engineer/Technolgosit Role:

Document Control - Issuing of drawings/revisions and maintaining a drawing log.

Drafting Assistance - Acorn drawings and checking of drawings.

Project Coordination/Management - Tracking of project status/measurements, assist with reviewing lists, confirmation of items (inspection/counting) for shipping/receiving/expediting, preparing/reviewing purchasing lists, assist with developing/maintaining project schedules, assist with material take-offs and RFQ's, keeping project binders and files organized.
