Career Opportunity - Electrical Project Manager

Electrical Project Manager
As an experienced Project Manager, you will be responsible for the management of all phases of a construction project from the pre-planning, through bid, tender, procurement, construction and commissioning stage of the project. The size and type of construction project will depend on the experience level and background of the successful candidate and the projects available.
Typical duties will include;
· Helping to develop the project requirements, cost estimates, project plan and budget.
· Assisting the Department Manager in the negotiation and awarding of contracts.
· Helping to select key personnel and subcontractors for the project.
· Monitoring, controlling and reporting on progress, costs and budget throughout the project.
· Maintaining good working relationships and communications between owners, contractors, sub-trades and project staff.
· Helping to resolve disputes, negotiate change orders, and communicate decisions to owners, sub-contractors and management personnel.
· Providing work direction and coaching to assigned field engineering and project staff.
· Communicating and enforcing company safety standards and operating practices.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications;
· Education: A graduate of an Electrical Engineering degree, technology or trade program.
· Experience: A minimum often years(15+ preferred)of project management experience in the construction industry, preferably on large multi-million dollar projects in the heavy industrial sector.
· Desired Skills:
o Strong project management, estimating and cost control skills.
o Demonstrated understanding of electrical construction techniques
o Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and communication skills.
o Strong planning, leadership and team building skills.
o Proficient in the use of computerized systems and project management software.
