POSITION SUMMARY

Career Opportunity – District Manager

District Managers
Under the guidance of a Division or Area Vice President, the District Manager will be responsible for the overall operations of a District or Branch office, including the development and execution of the business development and marketing strategy, the execution and financial control of all construction projects, the staffing and development of employees, the provision of technical and administrative expertise, the monitoring and control of operating budgets and the financial results for the District operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
· In conjunction with the Area Vice President, establish district objectives and strategies in support of the overall divisional goals.
· Develops and recommends the annual operating and capital budgets for the district.
· Maintains positive financial posture for the district and monitors cost analysis activities on a routine basis.
· Plans, staffs and supervises all district activities, including personnel administration, performance review, defining functions, responsibilities etc.
· Manages budget and cost control resource allocation of the local operations facility (office, shop, yard). Recommends and monitors equipment capital budgets.
· Monitors overall quantity and quality of work performed by the district. Develops programs, policies, standards and procedures consistent with corporate policy.
· Performs and directs research and client contracts to identify potential projects and gains admittance to bidders list. Maintains an effective business development program, securing new work on a routine basis.
· Promotes the growth of the district through marketing to existing and prospective clients and through participation in business and trade associations.
· Determines project scope, objectives, schedules, budgets considerations and personnel for projects. Develops, recommends and implements an execution plan for each project, after project is awarded.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications;
· Education: A graduate of an Engineering/Business Administration degree program, MBA preferred. CCA Gold Seal (Estimating and/or Project Management) and COR or CSO would be an asset.
· Experience: Advanced knowledge of all aspects of construction required, a minimum of ten years of construction experience: estimating, management, supervision, engineering and marketing.
· Desired Skills:
o Strong planning, leadership and team building skills.
o Business development, marketing and sales skills
o Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and communication skills.
o Excellent written communications skills, including the ability to produce highly professional proposals and presentations.
o Ability to make timely and rational decisions under pressure.
