Construction Site Supervisor (Intermediate)
As an experienced Onsite Construction Supervisor, you will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, scheduling, execution, administration and cost control of a multi-million dollar construction site. The size and type of construction project will depend on the experience level and background of the successful candidate and the projects available.

Typical duties will include:
· Assisting the Project Manager with the initial mobilization and set up of the construction site.
· Taking an active role in the selection, training, assignment and supervision of project staff, including monitoring performance, providing feedback and taking corrective action.
· Coordinating the daily activities of project staff, construction trades and subcontractors, and taking corrective action to keep the project on time and on budget.
· Helping to resolve design issues, change requests, material defects and equipment problems.
· Monitoring job progress and costs, and providing regular progress reporting to management.
· Managing all project administration activities including; payroll, timekeeping, labour coding, equipment coding, purchase order coding and safety reporting.
· Establishing effective onsite communications and progress reporting with sub-trades and clients.
· Maintaining effective labour relations through ensuring compliance with company policies, labour agreements, resolving employee grievances and treating people fairly.
· Helping coach and train Field Engineers, Project Coordinators and junior Site Supervisors.
· Ensuring compliance with the company health and safety training and reporting requirements.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications;
· Education: A graduate of a Civil, Mechanical or Construction Engineering degree or technology diploma program or a Journeyman Trades Certificate and extensive construction and site management experience.
· Experience: A minimum often (10) years of construction site management experience, preferably on large multi-million dollar projects.
· Desired Skills:
o A solid understanding of all construction trades and construction techniques.
o The ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and field drawings.
o Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and communication skills.
o Strong planning, leadership and team building skills.
o The ability to make timely and rational decisions under pressure.
o Good labour relations and contract administration skills.
o Familiar with Workers Compensation and Safety legislation.
o Must have basic computer skills (e-mail, spreadsheets, systems navigation, etc.)
