POSITION SUMMARY

Scope:
- Our valued Chief Inspector will ensure the safety of people and reliability of the equipment. Leading an elite team of top professionals through the development and management of inspection programs, the Chief Inspector will directly impact the entire Integrity Management program for the Horizon Oil Sands project.

Key Area of Contribution:
- Implement, manage and maintain the ABSA Approved Owner User Program;
- Maintain safe operating pressure equipment by:
- establishing safe operating intervals on all pressure equipment;
- performing condition assessment inspections; and
- certifying the equipment to a safe operating time interval.
- CNRL official liaison to ABSA for the Pressure Equipment Integrity Program.

Specific Accountabilities:
- Develop and update revisions to the Pressure Equipment Integrity Management System program;
- Manage the planning for routine maintenance inspection and turnaround inspection resources;
- Report and update CNRL leadership on the overall facility integrity performance/issues;
- Participate in maintaining the inventory database of all pressure vessels, boilers and safety relief valves;
- Monitor, audit and assess contractor and vendor inspection activities;
- Act as the Owner's Inspector for piping construction and IMS program certified repairs;
- Approve inspection plans, N.D.E., repairs, pressure piping construction, safety valve servicing and special process contracts;
- Responsible for inspection activities and the direction of inspection personnel; and
- Oversee process conditions, adjust inspection requirements to accommodate process changes, and recommend corrective actions.

Qualifications for the Position
Education, Certification and Experience:
- An Engineering degree, diploma or other relevant degree;
- ABSA In-Service Boiler and Pressure Vessel Certification is required;
- API 510 and National Board of Boilers and Pressure Vessel Certification is required;
- 10+ years of experience in pressure equipment operation, maintenance and inspection (3+ years in an Oil Sands/Petrochemical environment), combined with 3+ years in inspection management; and
- Experience understanding the principles of Risk Based Inspection (RBI) and working in an RBI environment.
