PRIMARY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prospect generation, including providing structure maps, seismic models, seismic character analysis/interpretation, assessing quantitative interpretation techniques, providing input to geological models, recommendations to purchase or acquire seismic data, assessing seismic processing requirements and supervising same with data processors, recommending drilling locations;
- Coordinating with other departments as required on any field seismic and processing efforts;
- Providing input to economic analysis, risk analysis and prioritizing opportunities;
- Responsibility for decision quality, technical assurance and value creation;
- Generation of detailed technical analyses of regional plays and their validity based on available geophysical and geological data;
- Contribution to business strategy and planning for the development team.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILL SET:
- 5+ years of related experience in a Geophysicist role involving seismic interpretation, general exploration and development prospecting, seismic processing and acquisition;
- Degree in Geophysics and membership within APEGGA (or eligibility for APEGGA membership, depending on experience level);
- Strong communication skills with the ability and desire to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment;
- Strong time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage various projects and priorities simultaneously, to meet timing deadlines and demands effectively;
- Interest or aspiration to take on future increased responsibility and seniority within the Geophysical team, development team. or others;
- Experience with Seisware, LogM, and GeoSyn an asset.
