Scope: - A challenging mentorship role where one person can make a difference is what we offer our Lead In-Service Inspector. High quality standards and a passion for ensuring personal safety will motivate our Lead In-Service Inspector. Supervising a team of Professional Inspectors who will be responsible for implementing programs will ensure the continued success of our project.
Key Areas of Contribution: - Contribute to the implementation and administration of the PEIM program including asset integrity inspections, condition monitoring and pressure equipment repairs; - Monitor the day-to-day inspection needs of the assigned areas and provide expertise in the utilization of inspection technology; and - Provide guidance and expertise in the utilization and application of various inspection technologies, industry codes and company standards. - Lead and carry out inspection activities in an assigned plant area.
Specific Accountabilities: - Ensure that CNRL personnel and contractors meet the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Integrity Management (PIEM) Program; - Work with Operations, Maintenance and Process Controls to identify opportunities where asset integrity management improvements can enhance equipment integrity and bottom line performance; - Set-up and manage a corrosion monitoring program for in-service equipment and piping; - Conduct inspections of new and in-service equipment and piping; - Manage and maintain the PEIM Program and the pressure equipment database; - Provide daily inspection support and participate in failure investigation and root cause analysis; - Review, approve, and inspect all pressure equipment repairs.
Qualifications for the Position Education, Certification and Experience: - Completion of a Mechanical/Metallurgical/Materials or Welding Engineering Degree, Diploma or Technology Program; - 5 to 10 years experience as an In-Service Inspector with experience on pressure vessels, boilers, fired heaters, tanks, and pressure piping would be preferred; and - Certification as an Alberta In-Service Boiler and Pressure Vessel Certification or Pressure Vessel Inspector would be preferred. - API-510, API-570, API-653, NB, CWB level 2 certifications, CGSB level 2 NDT will be considered. Candidates without this certification could be considered with the correct combination of experience and qualifications. - Inspection management / supervisory experience - Experience understanding the principles of Risk Based Inspection (RBI) and working in an RBI environment

This position is based on our Horizon Site which is located north of the city of Fort McMurray.
