Grande Cache Coal Corporation (GCCC) is an exciting, long-term mining operation that produces premium, low volatile, metallurgical coking coal for export to the world steel industry. The mine site is 20 kilometres north of the Town of Grande Cache (www.grandecache.ca), a community of nearly 4000 located on the edge of the Rocky Mountains in west-central Alberta just 2 hours from Jasper National Park. Underground Mining Technician
GCCC has a unique and exciting role for a motivated and energetic person. You will be responsible for ventilation surveying and planning and implementation of those plans to ensure that health and safety policies and practices are respected. As well you will be involved in underground surveying and mapping. Additional responsibilities will involve you working with underground and engineering personnel on projects to ensure the overall goals are achieved.
The successful candidate will have a diploma in Mining or Civil Technology. Underground experience is an asset although this is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate. Well developed computer skills including proficiency with AutoCAD and with the Microsoft Office Suite of products is essential. Solid time management and communication skills are essential to the success of this position.
