The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in oil and gas operations. Candidates must be very proficient in working with computers, including the use of programs such as the MS Office software applications (Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook). Experience working in mapping programs like Accumap, Petro Lab and Arc View and GPS knowledge would be a definite asset. Strong communication and team skills are required. The successful applicant will be well organized, self motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and have a strong work ethic.
Reporting to the Manager, Health & Safety, the responsibilities of the Emergency Response Technician include, but are not limited to the following:
â¢Assist with the development, maintenance and distribution of Emergency Response Plans (ERPs); â¢Gather well and pipeline data from various sources for input into ERPs (files, field personnel, Accumap, etc.); â¢Assist with completing or validating calculations on data gathered to determine Emergency Planning Zones (EPZs) for sour wells, pipelines and production facilities; â¢Maintain information on residents located in EPZs (may require direct contact with residents to gather and update information); â¢Develop and maintain accurate information on mapping required for ERPs; â¢Maintain and update ERP database; â¢Assembly and distribution of ERPs; â¢Periodic trips to the field may be required for gathering information; â¢May have interaction with Government agencies as required to maintain complete and accurate ERPs; and â¢Other Emergency Response related duties as required.
