POSITION SUMMARY

Scope:
The Horizon Human Resources Administrative Assistant (reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources) will have an opportunity to work in a brand new refinery facility on a world class project. This role will be working with a team of experienced individuals ranging from Recruiters, Advisors, Trainers, Relocation/Housing Advisors and Stakeholder Relations. This position offers the opportunity to learn and grow within an HR environment. As a shareholder of the company, you will have the opportunity to directly impact your success and the success of this project.

The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the VP – HR & Stakeholder Relations and the Client Services team within the Horizon Oil Sands Project.

Specific accountabilities:

• Coordinate internal and external meetings for the VP
• Prepare HR forms required by HR Advisors and provide to HR Advisor for completion and authorization
• Process all approved forms
• Prepare HR data reports as required
• Take care of logistics for regular and ad-hoc Client Services meetings
• Manage the HR Resource Center
• Participate in continuous improvement projects as required
• Respond to ad-hoc requests from Client Services
• Travel arrangements for the business unit as required
• Maintain and organize calendars and schedules, organize tasks for the VP
• Maintain the vacation tracking system for all of the Human Resources & Stakeholder Relations area
• Prepare expense reports and input requisitions into the EnterpriseOne system.
• Provide full range of administrative support and act as the point of contact for the VP – Human Resources and Manager – Client Services.
• Prepare routine documentation and correspondence as requested
• Other administrative or project work as assigned.

This position is based on our Horizon Oil Sands site located approximately 70 km north of the city of Fort McMurray, Alberta.

Education & Experience:
• Minimum education requirement is high school diploma. Formal administrative training would be preferred.
• 10 – 15 years experience in an administrative or high role
• High degree of computer literacy
• Skilled in all Microsoft Office applications
• Fort McMurray resident

Health, Safety and Environment
• Comply with all Health and Safety requirements established by Canadian Natural Resources Limited
• Know and comply with all regulations and legislative requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for the province of Alberta and environmental standards
• Follow safe work procedures and ensure all personnel comply
• Report any injury or illness immediately
• Report unsafe acts and conditions
• Ensure personal protective equipment is available and is worn where and when required

Personal Qualities:
• Respect for confidentiality and good attention to detail are absolutely essential.
• Able to be efficient as well as accurate in required tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation
