Job Purpose:
à To provide support and services for instrumentation and controls design on projects as requested by the project managers and defined by the project requirements.
General Duties, Responsibilities, & Critical Outcomes:
à Supervise a team of professional people performing a variety of tasks in the instrumentation/control systems engineering department.
à Mentor junior engineers/technologists.
à Lead multiple projects.
à Delegate tasks to engineers and technologists.
à Implement the corporate QA plan on projects.
à Prepare and supervise cost estimates, project planning, scheduling, and cost control functions.
à Prepare design notes, calculations, drawings, and specifications relative to instrumentation design.
à Plan detailed methods of solving assigned problems.
à Support purchasing and construction technically during the completion of projects.
à Act as company representative and interact directly with clients.
à Coordinate instrumentation and controls activity with project management and other disciplines.
à Review and develop PFDâs and P&IDâs.
à Prepare project control philosophies and control narratives.
à Create, review and stamp, cause and effect drawings/shutdown keys.
à Work with clients and vendors in developing control systems architecture.
à Develop junction box wiring and loop drawing templates for instrumentation using intools.
à Prepare purchase requisitions and packages for all field instrumentation, DCS, SIS, SCADA, RTUâs, CCTVâs.
à Review and approve vendor data.
à Supervise the development of software programs for controlling various processes and facilities.
à Attend FAT and SAT tests.
à Complete field inspection and commissioning of systems as required.
