*On the edge of the Arctic, in the heart of the wilderness, you will find Canada%26#39;s premier diamond producer, Diavik Diamond Mine. Located 300 kms northeast of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Diavik has been an open pit mine since 2003 and received approval for its underground project in 2007. Our underground mine is currently in development, is due to go into production in 2009 and has a mine life extending into 2023. Going forward, the main methods of mining the three kimberlite pipes will be underhand cut and fill and blast hole stope.
*Reporting to the Project Leader, the Accounts Payable will be located at the Lac de Gras Mine Site on a four (4) days on/three (3) days off rotational basis. The incumbent is responsible for assisting tracking and reporting on project costs for the Construction %26amp; Engineering Project.
*The Accounts Payable, will be responsible for, but not limited to:
*%26bull; Receiving, sorting and forwarding Accounts Payable (A/P) invoices on a daily basis;
*%26bull; Reconciling supplier statements monthly;
*%26bull; Maintaining current year A/P files including filing paid invoices;
*%26bull; Entering purchase requisitions of goods or services;
*%26bull; Assisting with requests for information from current year A/P files;
*%26bull; Providing backup to the Senior A/P Officer for cheque and payment runs;
*%26bull; Tracking project costs;
*%26bull; Providing support to Cost Control Team;
*%26bull; Ensuring all invoices are supported by proper back up documentation, all work billed is authorised and check for errors in rates, hours and totals;
*%26bull; Assisting with data entry requirements in areas of accountability;
*%26bull; Providing assistance with the monitoring of contracts.

!*!Above all, the successful candidate will be one whose #1 priority is safety in the workplace. The incumbent will have a Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalency. Successful completion of a basic accounting course will be considered an asset. Other combinations of education/experience may be considered.
