In this unique and exciting role, you will lead a technical group responsible for the design, planning and scheduling of mining activity to ensure compliance is within geotechnical parameters and that Company and regulatory (HSE) standards, policies and procedures are maintained. Additional responsibilities include designing all facets of mine activity including production, waste handling and reclamation, tracking day-to-day production statistics, providing engineering technical support to mine operations, liaising with government representatives, consultants and other stakeholders, conducting project work encompassing planning, estimating, bid processing and contract administration and assisting with mine equipment acquisition and budget preparation. The successful candidate will have a degree in Mining (B.Eng.) with at least five years recent experience in a surface mining environment. Underground experience is an asset. Well developed computer skills including proficiency with AutoCAD, mine design software and with the Microsoft Office Suite of products is essential. Sound knowledge of mining and HSE regulations, mine design principles and associated operational methods (roadways, drilling, blasting, waste removal and extraction) is expected. Solid leadership, time management and communication skills are essential to the success of this position.
