EBA Engineering Consultants Ltd. (EBA) has an immediate opening for a junior geotechnical engineer to join our growing IPP Hydroelectric Team based out of our Vancouver, BC office.
EBA provides a broad spectrum of geotechnical services to clients in the hydroelectric and wind energy development sector. As part of the team you will be expected to undertake geohazard assessments, terrain assessments, site investigations, construction monitoring and materials testing. Additional duties will include contributing to aspects of geotechnical analysis and design for IPP Hydroelectric projects.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a keen interest in geotechnical engineering and ideally have a minimum of one year related experience, but new graduates with the right skills and ability will be considered. A bachelor's degree in either Civil or Geological Engineering from a recognized university is a must and a graduate level degree in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred. Interest and experience in geomorphology, engineering geology, road construction, hydraulic engineering and rock mechanics is an asset to this position.
A desire to travel and work in remote locations throughout British Columbia for up to several weeks duration, a valid driver's license, strong verbal and written communication skills, and be eligibility for registration with APEGBC are a must.
