EBA Engineering Consultants Ltd. (EBA) has an immediate opening for a Junior Geotechnical Engineer in our growing Nanaimo, BC office. This position offers the opportunity to have a key role in a mid-sized office of a premier consulting company and to live on beautiful Vancouver Island. Currently, EBAs geotechnical practice consists of a broad spectrum of projects that include foundation investigations for commercial, industrial, and high rise developments; shallow and deep foundation design; seismic assessments; dam safety reviews and remediation design; slope stability assessments and design; embankments; small run of the river hydro electric projects, pavement evaluation and design; and construction monitoring for various projects.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a keen interest in geotechnical engineering and ideally have a minimum of one year related experience, but new graduates with the right skills and ability will be considered. As a minimum, the candidate must have a bachelor's degree in either Civil or Geological Engineering from a recognized university. A graduate level degree in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred. Applicants must be willing and able to work in the field, as well as in the office, have a valid driver's license, and be eligible for registration as a professional with APEGBC.
