POSITION SUMMARY
EBA is currently seeking an intermediate Mining Engineer to support our growing Mining Practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical input and project management for surface and underground mining engineering projects with a primary project focus on pit slope design, underground rock mechanics, mine planning, economic analysis, equipment cost estimation, reclamation and the preparation of preliminary assessments, pre-feasibility and feasibility level reports. The successful candidate will consult on projects for Canadian and international clients. Assignments will include engineering studies (scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility), operational advice and due diligence/independent reporting projects. In addition to technical issues, the successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain client relationships, and work in a team environment. This position requires strong networking and communications skills, and sound interpersonal capabilities are therefore essential.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Mining Engineering or Geological Engineering with emphasis on Mining.
• Four to eight years experience with a minimum of two years at an operational mine and have assisted with technical report writing.
• Must be or eligible to register as a professional engineer or geoscientist in the Province of British Columbia.
• Familiar with NI 43-101 standards, preferably able to act as a Qualified Person in one or more aspects of mine feasibility studies.
• Familiar with mine design and planning software e.g., Mine 2/4D, Gemcom, Vulcan, Datamine, Whittle.
• Preference for individuals with Northern Canadian mining experience will be given, however all mining experience will be recognized.
• Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment.
• Preference for working in our Vancouver office location is desired.
