The ideal candidate will possess a post-secondary education in Business or Accounting with a minimum of 1 year of experience in oil and gas, or an equivalent mix of education and experience. Knowledge of EnterpriseOne (formerly JDEdwards), QBLM, Excel spreadsheet skills, and familiarity with surface and mineral rentals would be definite assets. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are essential for success as well as communication and team skills, complemented with a strong work ethic.
Reporting to the Supervisor, General Operations Accounting, the Operations Accountant’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: •Maintain the joint venture receivables as they relate to Surface rental activity; •Complete a monthly reconciliation between government and in-house accounting records; •Maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners, manage internal queries, resolve payment disputes; •Properly code and book timber revenue and government refunds as they apply •Various back-up and relief duties within the department
