POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Foreman or Engineering Team Lead, primary responsibilities of the Chemical Technologist will include the following:

Monitor ongoing chemical programs for all fields in the Shaunavon area and look for opportunities to optimize chemical volumes and costs
Work with Chemical suppliers on inventory management and ensuring industry best practices
Ensure proper testing and measurement of chemical injection streams are completed and reviewed
Monitor performance trends, recognizing and acting on deviations from targets
Complete and submit monthly reports and updates on chemical injection streams and inventory
Investigate and propose new technologies or solutions to improve efficiency of chemical program
Review, update and develop plant procedures, i.e. chemical handling and disposal, chemical spill clean up, etc.
Review safety and environmental audits in order to implement recommendations
Supporting area teams in achieving Loss Control and production/cost targets



Qualifications:
As the ideal candidate you have a diploma in chemical engineering technology. You also possess a minimum of 3 years oil and gas experience, most of which should involve field and facility operations.
Candidates must be self-motivated and independent, have strong organizational skills and should thrive on independently managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced business environment.
