As a member of the Eastern Asset Team, based in Calgary, your primary focus is the support of Talisman Energy's Shaunavon oil property which has an operating alkali surfactant polymer (ASP) flood in the Instow unit. You will be responsible for the expansion of this flood into other units. You will also be responsible for continued drilling, optimization and other development efforts on new and existing assets. Working in a multi-disciplined team environment with professional engineers, geoscientists and technologists, you will apply your technical expertise in the area of engineering while training/mentoring other engineers.
Leading technical work and field studies, gathering and providing meaningful data and answers for the Instow polymer flood
Responsible for the expansion of the ASP to other units, coordinating the reservoir and geological simulation and data gathering, providing supporting the facilities team during scoping construction and startup
Provide economics and risk analyses to justify development projects
Optimizing development; providing sound technical work for reserves assessment, depletion optimization studies, etc.
Ensuring consistent approach, integrated results and effective communication with asset team members as it pertains to engineering support
Supporting Talisman's active development programs, from new well drilling to recommending optimum completion practices, to facility tie-ins and optimization of wells and EOR Schemes
Coordinating work with Petroleum Engineering (e.g. reservoir simulations, well test analysis, etc.) that requires specialized support
Keeping abreast of technology and trends in the production of oil and gas and secondary recovery techniques
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering combined with ten or more years of experience. You thrive on independently managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, results orientated environment which is committed to safe operations. You have strong analytical skills and are able to formulate and implement development strategies. You have excellent interpersonal skills, well developed leadership skills and effectively interact with management and cross functional team members to advance projects and ideas. Strong organizational and presentation skills are required.
