PositionSenior Mechanical Engineer - Positions available in offices across Canada
Job Summary:Carries out analyses and design associated with mechanical equipment for hydroelectric projects, including selection and specification of turbine equipment, detailed design and specification of balance-of-plant services. Gate/stoplog design and specification for spillways , intakes and powerhouses. Directs drafters/ technologists in production of mechanical drawings.
Work includes all stages of projects, from feasibility to final detailed design, and includes new projects and rehabilitation and upgrade of existing facilities.
Works with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technologists to execute projects within budget and on schedule.
Level:10-15 years experience
Qualifications:
-University graduate with degree in mechanical engineering. An advanced degree is an asset.
-Verbal communication capability and basic writing skills in English language.
-Proficiency in computer applications, stress analysis and spreadsheets.
-Experience
oConceptual and Feasibility Studies of hydroelectric projects.
oDesigns defining and specifying hydroelectric turbine equipment.
oDetailed analysis and design of balance-of- plant services.
oGate/valve analysis and design.
oInspection and condition assessment of hydroelectric facilities.
oRehabilitation and upgrade projects including runner replacement.
oInspection at fabrication plant and supervision of commissioning of turbines, valves, gates and related equipment.
