As such, the successful candidates must be prepared to travel and be in the field for assignment intervals of three to four weeks at a time.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have minimum of five years experience, preferably in a consulting engineering practice or in resource-based industries such as mining or oil and gas. Construction project management experience is highly desired. The candidate must have a recognized degree in Civil, Mining or Geological Engineering. Previous experience on northern arctic projects and knowledge of permafrost and its impact on design and construction of engineered structures will be a definite asset. Applicant must be eligible for registration as a professional with APEGGA, be legally entitled to work in Canada, and possess a valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence (or equivalent).
