The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on teams responsible for developing designs for infrastructure components on civil engineering projects for large resource developments in arctic areas. A requirement of this position will be a desire to work on exciting large-scale projects in remote arctic locations, chiefly in Canadas three northern territories but also at times in other circumpolar regions. The successful candidates must be prepared to travel and be in the field for assignment intervals of three to four weeks at a time and cumulating to considerable amounts each year.
Qualifications:
This position requires between one to three years experience. Preferred experience includes geotechnical engineering for either mining or oil and gas projects. A recognized degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Geological Engineering is required. Field construction supervision and QA/QC experience is a definite asset. Working knowledge of computer aided design tools such as AutoCAD, Eagle Point and EMXS is also desired. Applicant must be eligible for registration as a professional or EIT with APEGGA.
