POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician – Pipefitter position is located at our Cochrane Plant.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:

*Responsible for the installation, maintenance and modification of pressure equipment, piping and related equipment at the plant.
*Conduct regular maintenance, preventative maintenance and compliance checks on plant equipment and systems in support of the safe and efficient operation of the plant.
*Troubleshoot and resolve problems with mechanical systems.
*Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
*Ensure that maintenance work complies with all regulatory and company standards, policies and procedures for safe work as well as industry and company best practices.
*Participate with planning and occasionally lead plant-based construction projects, turnaround tasks and commissioning and start-up activities.
*Assist other departments with scheduled work as needed.
*May oversee and direct contractors with specific tasks, ensuring work is done safely and the task is completed successfully.
*Subject to callouts in off hours and on weekends to support the running plant. Subject to scheduled overtime during periodic plant or unit shutdowns and turnarounds.
Education, Skills and Experience:

*A Journeyman certification in Pipefitting or Steamfitting. Inter-provincial seal designation is preferred.
*Fully competent with layout and fabrication of piping systems.
*Gas plant experience of 5 years or more.
*Must be comfortable working in a blended team environment consisting of company employees and outside contractors.
*Interpersonal, problem solving and economic thinking skills are strong assets for this position.
*Demonstrated positive attitude and outlook. Able to work with direction in a dynamic maintenance team environment.
*Current H2S Alive, TDG and First Aid certification is also an asset.
*Experience working with a computerized maintenance management system is an asset.
