SCOPE The Operator, Tank Farm is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the Tank Farm area. In this position the Operator will perform a variety of tasks to optimize and maintain the Tank Farm processes and the process equipment.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Learn the unit layout, purpose and operating parameters of the assigned systems. • Operate and monitor the Tank Farm, Blending Facility and Piperacks. • Assist Maintenance personnel in the troubleshooting and repairing of equipment. • Rotate job positions as directed by the Shift Team Leader. • Utilize and further develop Training Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures. • Assist the Shift Team Leader to assess incidents. • Participate in Team Safety Meetings and follow up on assigned items. • Export Pipeline Blending to specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION: Education & Experience • Previous experience working in the Tank Farm area of a large plant. • Experience in any of the following areas: pumps, product sampling, Vapour Recovery Units, Sour Water, Sour Hydrocarbon sampling and purging systems. • Grade 12 Diploma (or equivalent). • GPO (Gas Plant Operator), PITS (Petroleum Industry Training Service) Training would be beneficial in this position. • 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate would be an asset.
PERSONAL QUALITIES: • Be self-motivated with a desire to learn. • Good mechanical aptitude. • Able to produce high quality work with minimal supervisor.
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT: • Comply with all Health and Safety Requirements established by Canadian Natural Resources Limited. • Know and comply with all regulations and legislative requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for the Province of Alberta and environmental standards. • Follow safe work procedures and ensure all personnel comply. • Report any injury or illness immediately. • Report unsafe acts and conditions. • Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and is worn where and when required.
