SCOPE
With previous experience in a hydrocarbon plant environment dealing with separation and recovery techniques, our experienced Field Operator will have the opportunity to share their knowledge and experience with their team to ensure the continued success of the Bitumen Production operation.


KEY AREAS OF CONTRIBUTION:
• Operate the plant to meet planned production, quality and environmental targets.
• Responsible for the safe and efficient field operation of the Primary Separation Vessel, Naptha Recovery Unit, Cyclones, etc. operating at up to 12,000 tonnes per hour of Oil Sand.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency situations by providing appropriate field support.
• Troubleshoot any failures or issues with the equipment.
• Communicate with a team of Operators and a Panel Operator on a regular basis.
• Foster a team work environment by assisting in all areas as required.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding recovery equipment such as Primary Separation Cells, Naptha/Vapor Recovery Units, Dearators, Cyclones, etc.
• Operate all process equipment using most current Standard Operating Procedure.
• Make decisions regarding the best use of resources to meet targets as per operational plan.
• Shut down and provide a safe isolation of all process equipment for maintenance activities as required.
• Complete shift log entries, monitor operations and submit maintenance requests.
• Work with engineering and process personnel to optimize safety, production, recoveries and environmental targets.
• Develop a clear understanding of plant process and controls.
• Participate in all training geared towards personal and Field Operator development.
• Ensure housekeeping in your area is kept at a high standard.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Certification and Experience:
• Minimum of two years experience in a large integrated plant site or Oil Sand operating facility.
• Previous experience in a hydrocarbon environment, as well as dealing with separation and recovery techniques is required.
• 4th Class power engineering certificate would be an asset.
• A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Comply with all Health and Safety requirements established by Canadian Natural Resources Limited.
• Know and comply with all regulations and legislative requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for the province of Alberta and environmental standards.
• Follow safe work procedures and ensure all personnel comply.
• Report any injury or illness immediately.
• Report unsafe acts and conditions.
• Ensure personal protective equipment is available and is worn where and when required.
