SCOPE
Reporting to the General Foreman, the Haul Truck Operator position is primarily responsible for the movement of oil sands within a large truck and shovel operation. Using the latest technologies and employing talent nation wide, the Horizon Oil Sands - Mine Operation will become one of the largest operating mines in North America.

PRIMARY EQUIPMENT OPERATION

• CAT 797 Haul Truck

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Safe and efficient operation of CAT 797 Haul Trucks
• Work with minimal supervision
• Keep accurate production records
• Maintain equipment integrity

HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT:
• Comply with all Health and Safety requirements established by Canadian Natural Resources Limited;
• Know and comply with all regulations and legislative requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for the province of Alberta and environmental standards;
• Follow safe work procedures and ensure all personnel comply;
• Report any injury or illness immediately;
• Report unsafe acts and conditions; and
• Ensure personal protective equipment is available and is worn where and when required.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
Education & Experience
• Minimum of 6 months experience operating a Mechanical or Electric Haul Truck or Articulating Truck in a Mine environment
• Support a 24/7 Mining Operation, while working a 7 on /7 off (12 hr) shift rotation consisting of alternating weeks of day and night shift
• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalency
• You will have a valid Class 5 Driver’s license
