The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for partnering with the business in the provision of a wide range of HR responsibilities including employee retention and engagement, employee relations, and performance management. Ensures a smooth flow of services to client departments, managers and employees, and assists in identifying and adding value to new and existing services.
Responsibilities
Provides guidance and assistance to employees and managers on a number of human resources issues including recruitment, orientation, employee relations, performance management, and HR policies and programs.Provides coaching, guidance and conflict resolution to employees and managers in order to foster positive working relationships.Works with managers on a number of performance issues including coaching on performance improvement, documenting performance and behaviour problems, preparing corrective action plans, and termination documentation where required.Proactively interacts with client management to find solutions to business issues and enable managers to better manage their business.Provides consulting and advisory support to the management team in areas of employee relations.Operating and contributing as a member of the HR Services team.Works with other internal HR professionals such as Recruitment, Organizational Development and Compensation/Benefits in delivering/implementing these functional initiatives to the client group.Works in conjunction with Human Resources related positions in individual business units to ensure that the information provided on the front line in the areas of corporate HR program offerings, initiatives, training and benefits is up-to-date and accurate.Provides on-going consultation, informal training and development, coaching and advice to Human Resources related positions in individual business units to ensure the highest level of customer service consistent with the Ledcor corporate standards.Prepares ad-hoc reports from the HR database as required.Contributes as a member of the HR Services team by supporting the overall HR operation as required.
Requirements
Completion of a degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, or equivalent five years of generalist human resources experience, with exposure to labour relationsStrong understanding of applicable employment legislationExcellent customer service focus and team player Excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Must possess tact, diplomacy and the ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to work with minimum supervision Strong knowledge of MSOffice and an aptitude for learning computer systems Strong Internet research skills
