The Telecom Field Operations Supervisor and Quality Assurance is responsible for the overall direction, administration and services within the Grande Prairie Branch and supervising all communication between the clients, customers and the field services technicians in the servicing of telecommunications fiber and electronics. Types of work request will include emergency restoration, cable locate requests, installation and repair requests, preventative maintenance requests. This position will report directly to the Regional Manager Field Operations Central Region.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the direct supervision of operating employees and deployment of equipment to meet production and safety requirements.
- Analyze downtime, process, labor, and provide solutions.
- Provide leadership in quality assurance and provide ongoing inspections.
- Supervise the representatives by monitoring the productivity of customer service representatives in order to maintain a high quality of customer service expectations.
- Prioritize and organize scheduling and train technicians.
- Identifies issues and appropriate courses of action.
- Researches and oversees implementation of new technologies.
- Provides reports, completes requests for new service.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership and skills to manage the facility.
- Provide leadership and guidance to achieve and maintain a trusting relationship with external and internal clients.
- Responsible for ensuring that the current installation and repair program is managed to ensure success.
- Measure quality performance against established standards.
- Review financial results and measure against target/budget.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in telecommunications or in a related area in a leadership role.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to plan and organize your workload and work with multiple deadlines.
- Computer literate and customer service oriented.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures, including OSP, Installation and Repair and Network.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Ability to lead and direct the work of others.
Work Conditions
- Travel to Edmonton Branch Office or job sites may be required occasionally.
- An ability to work a flexible schedule as required is a definite plus.
