· Participate in the installation of enterprise computing and local area network systems.
· Responsible for the setup and maintenance of client systems (workstations, thin-clients, telecom equipment, printers) and related software.
· Responsible for co-developing related support documentation, system processes and procedures that relate to all supported systems in conjunction with related Technical Services teams as well as the maintenance and upkeep of all existing documentation for current systems.
· Ensure all enterprise computing products and services are functioning correctly according to specifications.
· Coordinate and/or implement the execution of all network administrator functions under NT, Citrix, Internet, Mail, and Telecommunication systems.
· Carry out daily operational routines to optimize hardware and software use as directed including the management and use of backup/restore systems, database maintenance plans.
· Provide support to staff and clients through the recording, tracking and troubleshooting of escalated problems.
· Monitor system and application logs, identify problems and make recommendations for system enhancements based on problem resolution.
· Maintain a liaison with vendor contacts as well as branch technical representatives in the event of system failure or required escalation.
· Contribute to the attainment of divisional quality, financial performance and sales/service delivery targets and service levels.
· Participate in regular department meetings to discuss current activities and consult on problems and issues.
Please note that you will be required to work non-standard hours occasionally in the support of enterprise computing systems where it is deemed critical systems are either in a degraded state or non-operational.
You will also be participating in the sharing of off-hours support and be required to carry an on-call cell during these times.
Travel may be required to remote locations and offices, therefore, access to a vehicle is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of a two year technical or college diploma/certificate in information technology; requires 1 - 3 years experience in data communications troubleshooting OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification in the following areas is required within 1 year of employment:
· A+ Certification
· Microsoft Certified Systems Administration (MCSA) which includes Windows 2000 Professional and Windows 2000 Server
Certification in the following areas is required within 18 months of employment:
· Windows 2000 Networking
· An appropriate Windows 2000 elective (SQL, Exchange, Security)
Certification or equivalent knowledge in the following areas will be deemed definite assets:
· CCA (Citrix Certified Administrator) in a Metaframe environment
· Meridian phone Administration
· Cisco AVVID phone administration
· Database administration
· HP Openview monitoring systems
Excellent client service orientation with strong written and verbal communication skills
Organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
