By leading the change to improve corporate efficiencies, this hands on specialist will be recognized for their brilliance in database design.
Key Areas of Contribution: - Conduct an overall review of the current business systems; and - Design and implement a road map to take the company from standard to very dynamic systems - Keep pushing the envelope to propel the team & client group towards greater efficiency.
Specific Accountabilities: - Give Database Administration (DBA) support for application development activities, scripting, table/schema maintenance & refreshes, data/file cleanup and ID maintenance; - Support and lead team and inter-department projects; - Maintain up-to-date documentation including ITIL related processes for TEST/DEV/PROD Oracle database configurations, installations and management processes; - Provide application support, job scheduling/management, office and on-call support for production Databases; - Develop, document, execute and test disaster recovery strategies for Oracle Databases; - Create and maintain exception reports for OLAs (Operational-Level Agreements) with the Service Manager; - Keep up to date and report on SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) security standards and processes; and - Design and maintain enterprise Oracle databases, ensuring Database standards, revisions, patches and releases are maintained.
Qualifications for the Position: - 10+ years of experience with Oracle DBA, preferably in the oil and gas industry - A University degree or technical school diploma; - Oracle Certified Professional 9i/10g; - Solaris OS, Linux, script writing, SQL, SQL tuning is required; - Experience with MS SQL Server would be considered a valuable asset and preferred; - Experience in the following tools would be considered an asset – In-Depth/Precise, – Toad, DB Studio, – Enterprise Manager, – Remedy
