Shell is currently seeking an Unconventional Oil Reservoir Surveillance Engineer to work on Phase I of the Orion SAGD project at its Calgary office.

Responsibilities:

Work with integrated surveillance team to carry out following activities:

  • Preparing for, and running, combined reservoir/well integrated pad reviews
  • Review and update surveillance plans
  • Optimising the look forward steaming strategy, within the current/future facilities constraints. Potential to build IPM, or equivalent model, to aid systematic steam optimization decisions
  • Make recommendations for, and implement where possible, specific activities to embed global WRM standards into the Orion SAGD asset
  • Use of history matched simulation models to aid in understanding of Phase I performance
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Solid reservoir engineering technical skill set
  • Heavy oil/thermal development experience a plus
  • Strong team skills
  • Ability to deliver to tight timelines
  • Dynamic modeling with STARS simulator preferred – but not required
  • IPM modeling a plus
