Job Purpose:
Ø To provide support and services for instrumentation and controls design on projects as requested by the project managers and defined by the project requirements.
General Duties, Responsibilities, & Critical Outcomes:
Ø Supervise a team of professional people performing a variety of tasks in the instrumentation/control systems engineering department.
Ø Mentor junior engineers/technologists.
Ø Lead multiple projects.
Ø Delegate tasks to engineers and technologists.
Ø Implement the corporate QA plan on projects.
Ø Prepare and supervise cost estimates, project planning, scheduling, and cost control functions.
Ø Prepare design notes, calculations, drawings, and specifications relative to instrumentation design.
Ø Plan detailed methods of solving assigned problems.
Ø Support purchasing and construction technically during the completion of projects.
Ø Act as company representative and interact directly with clients.
Ø Coordinate instrumentation and controls activity with project management and other disciplines.
Ø Review and develop PFD’s and P&ID’s.
Ø Prepare project control philosophies and control narratives.
Ø Create, review and stamp, cause and effect drawings/shutdown keys.
Ø Work with clients and vendors in developing control systems architecture.
Ø Develop junction box wiring and loop drawing templates for instrumentation using intools.
Ø Prepare purchase requisitions and packages for all field instrumentation, DCS, SIS, SCADA, RTU’s, CCTV’s.
Ø Review and approve vendor data.
Ø Supervise the development of software programs for controlling various processes and facilities.
Ø Attend FAT and SAT tests.
Ø Complete field inspection and commissioning of systems as required.
